Review: Pieminister’s Cattle Market Pie & Mash Pop-Up in Camden

Here at Greedy Cochons HQ we love a good pie. We love them even more when they’re for a great cause.

Setting up shop at 21-22 Chalk Farm Road in Camden, Pieminister have teamed up with the ‘Send a Cow‘ charity to offer free pies in exchange for a donation. Eat a cow, give a cow – that kind of thing.

The pop-up in itself is very cool, decorated in the industrial-chic style that really suits Camden well, and the menu has everything you would expect from a pie shop – steak and ale pies, gravy, mash – plus a few Pieminister extras like the Spanish-influenced Matador pie or the cheddar and shallots topping. They have a solid offering of ales, ciders and gin to wash down the pies and a few staple desserts including brownies and flapjacks.

Make sure you get down there sharpish, they’re only open until the 17th November, and then where will you go to eat great pies AND help kick-start 30 farms in Africa?

Recently went to your shop in camden and was very disappointed , there was half the selection of pies I was told because we dont stock them as I thiught was strange as you only need to stock abould 12 items then I was told there wasn’t any takeaway boxs so my pies where put in some cheap chinese takeaway foil trays and when I ask for a stamp the member of staff told me we dont have a stamp to mark your book at thw moment ( book to get a free pie after 8 stamps) so left without the stamp. over all very disappointed.

Hi Lewis, Sorry you had a bad time at Pieminister, we’ve been back a few times and it’s always been great.
